Eastern CT Green Action

Eastern CT Green Action (ECGA) is a network of local individuals and groups devoted to slowing climate change through actions at the local and state level. Our purpose is to assist people who want to encourage their town governments and state legislators to enact substantive measures aimed at countering climate change. We meet monthly to exchange ideas and experiences.

ECGA was formed in December 2014 by several people from towns in eastern Connecticut. Initially, most people were from Mansfield, but now members are from Andover, Ashford, Chaplin, Coventry, Eastford, Hampton, Lebanon, Pomfret, Scotland, Tolland, Willington, and Windham.

Some projects members have become involved with include the efforts to ban the use of fracking waste in CT, enable Community Choice Aggregation, and stop the building of the Killingly natural gas plant. We are excited to be an affiliate member of the Roundtable for Climate and Jobs, where we can join with others to hasten the transition to a clean energy economy that benefits all.
