The Connecticut Roundtable on Climate and Jobs builds
alliances among diverse constituencies to combat climate change, create jobs and promote racial, economic and
Launched in 2012, CRCJ seeks to build a worker-oriented environmental movement committed to securing a fair and just transition that protects not only the environment but also the livelihoods of workers and their communities. We embrace our diversity as a source of power, recognizing that our shared interests in a sustainable climate and a just economy are stronger than any specific issues that may tend to
As the reality of climate change and its devastating impacts become more apparent, momentum will continue to grow for a fundamental shift away from fossil fuels.
A robust climate protection program will create tens of thousands of new jobs in Connecticut, but the transition to a clean-energy economy will likely displace some workers. Those workers making the difficult transition to alternative work deserve well-paid, secure jobs with benefits and the right to union representation
Similarly, communities on the front lines of the fossil-fuel economy and those located where the impacts of climate change will be felt most acutely must have a powerful voice in determining ways to mitigate the harm.
We believe the climate crisis presents an opportunity to build thriving local economies that are not only more sustainable but also more just and equitable.
We work with labor unions, environmental groups, social justice organizations and religious institutions
We advance Connecticut’s transition to a low-carbon economy
We advocate for renewable energy projects that create good paying jobs
We integrate racial and economic justice into our climate initiatives
Help ensure we have the resources to win more legislative victories
Our wonderful staff is dedicated to the Roundtable’s mission of combatting climate change and creating good-paying jobs for Connecticut families.
Their work helps ensure that Connecticut’s transition to a low-carbon economy will benefit Connecticut’s workforce and its environment.
Our diverse coalition of labor, environmental, social justice, interreligious, and community-based organizations is our greatest strength.
Together with our members and partners, we will continue to make history and work tirelessly to ensure that green collar jobs are family-sustaining jobs. By joining the Roundtable, members enjoy access to the power of our network through intersectional education and collective action.
Historically we have partnered primarily with organizations; we are excited to open up our network to individual advocates!
