Students are calling on the University of Connecticut to decarbonize.
Following the anti-fossil fuels campaigns of recent climate justice protests, UConn student groups including Fossil Fuel Free UConn plan a campus-wide walkout to demand the university divest from fossil fuels. The protest is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, October 25, 2023.
Students are calling on the public and other students to show support and walk out of class to show solidarity and demand climate action at UConn.
The students plan to march to the Board of Trustees meeting Wednesday morning to demonstrate support for the release of a Sustainability Action Plan and divestment from the reliance on fossil fuels from the UConn foundation.
